What is FotoFacial™?

FotoFacial™ treatment provides many improvements similar to a laser without the skin surface irritation and, therefore, there is no down time. Although a laser can produce a more dramatic smoothing and reduction in deep wrinkles, the FotoFacial™ can eliminate fine lines and can reduce or eliminate fine facial veins and dark spots that the laser cannot treat.

What is Foto Facial Plus™?

The FotoFacial Plus™ is the same great treatment as the FotoFacial™ BUT with one very special PLUS. The Yag 1064 laser! What is a Yag 1064 laser? The Yag is a Vasculite laser used to reduce small and medium size veins of the face. It is excellent at shutting down the ugly green veins on the temple and does a very nice job on the little red capillaries around the nose and on the cheeks. The FotoFacial Plus™ is considered a no downtime procedure.

How is the procedure performed?

A series of five treatments sessions lasting 45 minutes each, combined with a home skin care program, usually produces remarkable results. Some patients will want to continue with more treatments periodically for additional improvement.

FotoFacial™ is performed about 45 minutes after applying a topical analgesic cream to the area to be treated. You will feel a warm pulse as the light is activated. The skin is warmed by the light energy which causes the collagen to contract, thus tightening the skin and reducing the wrinkles. The light is also absorbed by excess pigment and blood vessels which are then destroyed by the energy. A gel is applied to soothe and cool the skin during the procedure. The treatment is completed with the application of a moisturizer and sunscreen.

Results

You will see improvement after your first FotoFacial™ treatment. Freckles and other dark spots may get a little darker for a few days after the first treatment, but the pigment will disappear spontaneously. Veins and blood vessels will typically be reduced 30% to 50% after the first visit and continue to diminish after each subsequent visit. Your skin will be lighter, pores will look smaller, and the texture will be finer.

You can resume all normal activity immediately after your FotoFacial™ treatment. You may be slightly pink for 30 minutes after each treatment, but this is easily covered by makeup and you can return to work. These are a very effective procedures that can help beautify your skin without interrupting your daily life. After the series of treatments is completed, you will probably find that you can go without makeup and your skin will look beautiful.

“The Super Charged FotoFacial” also called PhotoDynamic Therapy (PDT)

These treatments use the FotoFacial™ Technology but are a more aggressive treatment using a topical application of Levulan (5-aminolevulinic acid or ALA). With the addition of PDT the treatment will involve down time. The Levulan magnifies the FotoFacial™ treatment targeting skin that has been sun damaged. It also shrinks oil glands, minimizes fine lines & pores, evens out skin pigmentation and reduces rough skin patches. PhotoDynamic Therapy (PDT) can also effectively treat acne and rosacea. You should expect to peel and be red, in the treatment area, for 4 to 7 days following your treatment. Multiple sessions combining treatments with both PDT and FotoFacial™ are recommended for the best results.
