What is Smartlipo™?

Are You A Good Candidate?

You are a good candidate if you are in good health and you are fairly normal body weight, with pockets of unwanted fat. Some areas Dr. Wolin commonly treats are a man’s breasts (gyncecomastia), upper arms, necks, backs, bra strap areas, supra pubic area, saddlebags, inner thighs, knees and love handles.

How Is Smartlipo™ Done?

Using local anesthesia in the doctor’s office, a laser fiber is introduced through a small cannula by way of a tiny incision in the area to be treated. The Smartlipo™ laser delivers energy that actually ruptures fat cells, and the resulting damaged fat cells are then removed by Dr. Wolin via suction. The Smartlipo™ laser seals the blood vessels as it zaps fat, inducing collagen retraction and tissue tightening. There is also less swelling, bleeding and bruising than the traditional liposuction allowing faster patient recovery. The Smartlipo™ treatment normally lasts 45 minutes to an hour.

What Result Can I Expect?

The minimal invasiveness of Smartlipo™ allows patients to see faster results and to experience fewer complications.  In addition, Smartlipo™ patients need only a local anesthetic for this procedure, enhancing patient safety and reducing the likelihood of side effects. Results can be seen within weeks and will continue to improve over several months. The fat cells that are removed with Smartlipo™ will never return.
